Idea Capital of the World

Recently, on kix.com, WIRED65′s grant project designed to help promote regional workforce initiatives, there was a proposal set forth to brand the WIRED65 region as “The Idea Capital of the World.”

Seizing the idea, one of our virtual incubator clients (Startuptopia.com) decided to help with the initiative by creating a web site to showcase the many ideas generated in our region.

While the Venture Kentucky project is still in it’s infancy stages, Startuptopia has created an excellent start to this project.  Their idea is “if you’re going to claim to be the idea capital of the world, why not prove it?”  They’ve begun an effort to contact various organizations who have access to entrepreneurial ideas and ask them to contribute business ideas presented to them.  Thus far, they have contributions from various groups and events that sponsor new ideas.  These include the Lincoln Trail Venture Group, Idea State U, and the Sharks in the Heartland event.

They are seeking “idea contributions” from other venture or angel groups as well as event sponsors of business plan contests, university entrepreneurial programs, etc.  For more information, check out their web site at http://venturekentucky.com/
