You have to love a good success story.  One of the companies the Walker Entrepreneurial Group  has been “incubating,” is called Synapse Apps, LLC.  In March 2010, they launched their company with a new iPhone application under the brand PocketSLP.  It’s a vertical market play for speech therapists and parents of children with speech delays.  The founders are certified speech and language pathologists.

At the time they began, there were no applications for this out there.  The space is beginning to get crowded, but they were fortunate enough to get in in time to make a name for themselves.  In the first 1o months, they grossed over $75,000 and in the last week launched another powerhouse app that looks very promising. After the first day of sales, they were the 5th highest grossing app in the U.S. in the Education category. They have several other apps on the drawing board, one of which is likely to be released in the next week or so.  They are projecting sales in 2011 at $250,000.

Synapse Apps was bootstrap funded with less than $2,500 and has been operating in the black since the second month of operation. This is a testament to the founders’ belief in their product, their ideas, and innovation.
