Contract Services

The Walker Entrepreneurial Group has a strong background in contract services, most of which focus on entrepreneurial projects.  We welcome any opportunity to serve as a prime or sub-contractor in the future.

Beginning in 2008, the the various partners of Walker Entrepreneurial Group began a process of promoting entrepreneurial initiatives in Kentucky.  Among those are the following contracts with various government organizations:

Business Accelerator Feasibility Study.

FeasibilityStudy

In 2008, the city of Radcliff, KY commissioned a study to analyze the feasibility of establishing a business accelerator in their community to help promote economic development.  This 100+ page study was completed on October 31, 2008 and provided both a conceptual plan and a feasibility analysis.  The conclusion was that a business accelerator would indeed succeed in this community and could become self sustainable in less than five years.

The study was paid for by the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment.

Entrepreneurial Academy of Excellence.

WKU_EAEThe WKU Entrepreneurial Academy of Excellence, developed by a team of entrepreneurs from a wide range of groups within the Lincoln Trail area, began with a contract awarded to Western Kentucky University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation working primarily with the Elizabethtown Innovation Center. In collaboration with the Small Business Development Center, ECTC, WKU’s Campuses at Elizabethtown and Radcliff, and local entrepreneurs, the team is charged with development of a model to infuse the entrepreneurship spirit into the eight counties composing the LTADD district—Breckinridge, Grayson,Hardin, Larue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington.

The project is funded by the Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD) acting on behalf of the Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board (LTWIB).  It was managed and operated primarily by one of the Walker Entrepreneurial Group partners.

Dynamic Business Accelerator Demonstration Project.

DBAMost of the partners in the Walker Entrepreneurial Group played key roles in this grant provided by the U.S. Department of Labor to demonstrate various functions of a business accelerator in the Lincoln Trail Region.  BurtWalker.com was the managing contractor on behalf of the North Central Education Foundation, the prime contractor. Other partners included Western Kentucky University, Innovative Productivity Inc., SCORE, Kentucky Student Ventures Corporation, and Advancement Strategies, LLC.

Green Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute.

GEL-IN
This project was managed by one of our partners.  Concentrating on a “green” concept, the program used an expanded scope and focus on leadership and entrepreneurship.  The 16-24 year-old youth participants participated in a one-day entrepreneur boot campand was followed by more detailed training in the process of entrepreneurial business opportunities. It served eight counties in the Lincoln Trail region of Kentucky.

This Project is funded by the Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board and the U.S. Department of Labor.  The prime contractor was Hardin County Schools (Hardin County Kentucky).
